Net Status BD is a network monitoring and diagnostic application developed to help users check internet connectivity, Wi-Fi status, mobile network status, internet speed, ISP information, and possible network problems.
We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App may collect, why it is used, and how it is protected.
Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, the App may collect or process the following information:
1. User Account Information When you register or sign in, we may collect your name and email address to create and manage your account.
2. Network and Diagnostic Information The App may process information such as:
• Wi-Fi and mobile network connection status
• Network type (LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, etc.)
• Gateway IP address and Public IP address
• ISP or mobile operator name
• Ping, download speed, and upload speed
• Router availability status
3. Community Information If you use the Community feature, limited information such as ISP name and general network status may be processed to help identify area-wise outages. We do not use this to track your precise physical location.
4. Nearby Wi-Fi Alert Information (New Feature) The App includes an optional “Nearby Wi-Fi Alert” feature. To function, Android requires the App to request Location Permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) and Wi-Fi scanning permissions.
• Why we need this: Android links Wi-Fi scanning to location permissions. We use this ONLY to find password-free Wi-Fi when you have no internet.
• Privacy Guarantee: We DO NOT collect, store, or share your GPS location or movement history. The scanning happens locally on your device.
5. App Usage and Advertising We use Google AdMob, Firebase, and Meta SDK. These may collect:
• Advertising ID
• App interactions (clicks, features used)
• Device information and crash logs
• Install attribution (to know if the app was installed via a Facebook ad)
Permissions Used
The App requires the following permissions to work correctly:
• INTERNET: For speed tests and ads.
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE & ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: To check if you are online.
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES: Required by Android for the optional Wi-Fi scanning feature. (Note: We do not track your location).
• CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: To trigger Wi-Fi scans for alerts.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To send you billing and network status reminders.
• READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE: To detect mobile network types.
• AD_ID: For advertising and analytics.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers:
• Google Play Services & Firebase: For login, database, and analytics.
• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements.
• Meta/Facebook SDK: For app install measurement and ad optimization.
Data Storage and Deletion
• Local Storage: Your speed test history and billing info (bKash/Nagad numbers) are saved locally on your device.
• Cloud Storage: Account data is stored securely in Google Firebase.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data anytime via the “Delete Account” option in the Profile section.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect new features. The “Last Updated” date at the top will indicate the latest changes.
